After much time spent trawling the interweb, I found Five decent sites. Their visual styles and user friendliness could be a good influence on the CIMF site.
Common Characteristics
Style: The sites are visually harmonious, and soft on the eye. The Images/Text/Buttons all work towards a common theme.(4/5sites)
Background:The background features the strongest imagery, and there is a floating box with all the content.(4/5sites)
Navigation: The main site pages can be found under horizontal tabs towards the top of the screen.(5/5sites)
Bottom Bar: There is a bottom bar with links like “contact us”, “sitemap”, “bookmark”, or “RSS”.(4/5sites)
Window scaling: The Content on the pages is always centered, while the background is locked to the right border.(4/5sites)
Sound: There is no sound effects or music in the sites*.(4/5Sites)
*considering the genre of my site, i consider sound.
Text: The text in each site is in a simple, clear and legible(plain) font(5/5Sites)
